This guitar was built in December of 2019, hence the name Yule Log.
It’s got a red oak frame, a burl maple top and a swamp ash back, both 1/4” thick. Overall, it’s about the same thickness as a typical t-style guitar. The overall body size is a bit smaller than a typical t-style guitar.
Neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard with Hipshot locking tuners and a burl maple veneer on the headstock. The bridge placement is at a standard 25 1/2 inches. Bridge is from Wilkinson and is compensated. Body is string-through.
Pickups are Revel Custom Pickups Hogs, with a deep, rich tone, perfect for country or blues. They are loud and flat out rock!
The sides are finished with tanned leather, about 1/8” thick. The “binding” is leather rope, brown and 1/16” in diameter to make a nice visual and tactile step-down from the top to the sides. Where the leather meets at the neck heel, there is a small piece of polished brass to complete the joint visually.
